Always thought this was normal for everyone: Obsessively hyper focused on the combustion process of a boats outboard motor(smells, sounds, and visuals) as a child

I am now 44 years old and just got my official diagnosis of being Autistic. When I was a kid I was completely obsessed with the whole process of a motor. I didn’t understand how it worked but I was mesmerized by the process and all of the senses that I observed it with, is this not the average experience at 8-10 years old for most neurotypical people? Or is this a major example of my new diagnosis?
