My son is almost 5, minimally verbal, loves to run and play rough. He likes to interact with with others, but doesn't know how to play constructively, with toys, or pretend. The other thing he likes is his tablet.
This is the problem. After work & his ABA, we are all tired...worn out, and can't even think of something that we can do with him to help with socialization and speech, so we just let him play on his tablet and watch Wall-E for the 1000th time.
Does anyone have ideas of things we can do to help build some social skills, and maybe say something other than "I want chocolate?"
*Ok...this is kind of a rant also, but I would really appreciate some ideas
We try toys, blocks, cars, puzzles, sensory stuff, and it keeps his attention for about 5 seconds.
