Controlling the narrative.
Why would an administrator and sped teacher of severely autistic children (k-2) find it justified to share next to nothing about a students day? All that is given is a sheet where it’s circled what services the child supposedly received. There is nothing stating about mood, behaviors etc. These children are non speaking and cannot express how their day went like general education children can. Parents of children in this class know virtually nothing about their child’s school day, including who the TAs and service providers are (admin seems to think these aren’t important things to share during ESY).
At what point would you pursue higher up in the chain (state) and possibly legal? FYI, we’ve tried to collaborate with district and have been repeatedly blown off. There seem to be issues with dominance, power and control and it’s effecting the well being and needs of disabled children.
