Today my son gets evaluated and I can’t stop thinking the worse how I’m going to have to care for him for the rest of my life how we’re gonna get the worse possible diagnosis and the higest level and his level will never change like someone mentioned here . how this is all my fault and to top it off his dad’s mom came for me this morning to add the cherry on top 😞 I’m so afraid what the future holds for my son and I . If anyone can keep us in their prayers if you guys pray it would be highly appreciated it because as a mother I can’t take this no more I don’t even know how I’m going to make to the appointment when all I want is to sleep and never wake up I myself am seeking therapy and anxiety medication right now since I suffer from extreme anxiety and this has me feeling like I’m going to die .im just 22 years old and this has me with high blood pressure and feeling like I’m going to have a stroke of so much stress my eyelid won’t stop twitching I’m in constant flight or fight mode . I wish I was a as strong as all you parents on here but I’m just a coward of a mom a single mom might I add I just feel like my life is over and I won’t be able to handle this but my boy needs me but I can’t find the strength 😞 realistically is there a chance my 2.5 year old still live a “normal” life if he got diagnosed with level 3 can he still be able to live a normal life one day or is there any hope left for us is it to late to even get him help will he ever speak or eat on his own 😭 I’m paying ot and speech therapy out of pocket but what’s the point will he improve if he gets a level 3 diagnostic will that ever change do levels change that’s all I need to know 😭
When my son was your son's age he was nonverbal, constant meltdowns, never slept, couldn't be left alone ever, never ate apart from rice cakes and would be aggressive to his caregivers at nursery and me. He's now nearly 7. He is verbal, potty trained sleeps through the night most of the time thanks to melatonin and eats like a horse! We still have issues with his aggression and meltdowns but he is quicker to come around now and they don't happen nearly as often. This is because we got him the help early like you are doing for your boy. I used to cry myself to sleep every night worrying myself sick about my baby and his future. I still worry of course but I feel more positive that he will one day be independent and out living his life, but that is so far away just try and concentrate on the here and now. He will still be the same boy after his diagnosis only now he can get support. You're a good mum ❤️
