My son is 9yrs old and has been having agression since September of ‘23. No one knows what’s wrong and even his public school did an IEP meeting and evaluation to see what’s going on. He has been aggressive to the point that he is scratching, sometimes drawing blood, pulling hair, kicking and sometimes biting. The private clinic that he goes to since he was 3yrs old has given me notice that they are stopping OT services and our only choice with them is to have Telehealth but this is not workable for my son. It’s way too difficult for him to pay attention to a video call. By end of March ST will be terminated. I can’t sleep and I’m so worry about him. I know that we can switch clinics but where I live there are not a lot of options for a better clinic. He is verbally very challenged because he has apraxia and dysarthria. I will need to find a private OT or ST and my insurance won’t cover it. We are seeing a psychiatrist and even that is so expensive at $650 per 20 mins. Any other physiatrist that might even take insurance has a huge waiting list and I can’t have my son not treated and wait that long. He is on Zoloft for one month now, and Clonidine. We haven’t tried other meds because of the side effect are hunger and my boy is already a big kid at 120lbs. Has anyone being in this situation before? I need support and help. ABA is not helping much either even if we implement ABA skills. He is now starting to hit himself on his forehead when he is upset. We even took him to see his dentist two days ago. We have a neurologist appointment next week to rule out anything else. I’m at a point that I don’t know what else could work.
