Hi, I’m a nanny (manny?) and have been asked to help out with a family for 5 x 10hr days in a couple weeks. The agency I work for has told me it’s a 5 year old with level 2 autism which I’ve not really experienced in a child that age before (or had described to me).
I have a phone call planned with the mum later today I just couldn’t find a lot of info on what to expect from what level 2 autism really means and didn’t wanna go into this conversation completely ignorant of what I should expect. If anyone has/had a child this age with this diagnosis I’d love a little bit of info on what it means, what kind of activities your kids enjoyed at that age and what I (as a stranger) should expect in terms of behaviour and communication from the child. I will of course ask the mum for specific information about them and their needs but yeah, any info would be great.
