Tips on getting over a fear of automatic hand dryers/toilets?

I have to go in, cover the sensors and help with that ..but the panic that this causes is so intense. The hand dryers,auto flush toilets, auto sinks..kiddo is 8 now...I'm not always going to be there... any help or ideas?
