This is very confusing to me. I'm usually against touch, I'm better than I used to be but I struggle with it still. When I'm very overwhelmed and overstimulated my boyfriend petting my hair/scratching my head does wonders to calm me down. It has straight up prevented full meltdowns. I'm not sure why, I just know it helps. I also know that it can only be him that does it, no one else. Does anyone have any idea why this is? Is this unusual for autistic people? Please tell me if someone else experiences this. I'm trying so hard to learn about myself (which is hard cuz there's so much I don't understand about myself) , I'm 23 years old and I've only learned I'm autistic less than a year ago so this road is new for me
For me it is a trust thing. I don't like most people touching me, but my mom, my boyfriend and my dogs are all exceptions.
