New dog: helpful or harmful?
Post Body

My family is considering getting a dog, and I'm concerned it might be too much stress and stimulation for me. Or would it be a great emotional connection? I'm 50, I like dogs, but never had one. Does a dog overwhelm you with the extra work and logistical planning? And the noise and commotion? Does it annoy you? Those are the factors I worry about. Or does the emotional bond outweigh all that? My partner and preteen son say they'll do the work, but i have some doubt... Any advice or your experiences would really help! <3
