Hello!
I've been having a lot of trouble at my job lately. I learned I'm autistic not too long ago. I'm lucky enough I have a teenage special interest turned into career, and now I work from home doing computer programming.
I've always had trouble since I started a couple of years ago, where sometimes I'll be too overloaded by life itself and my ability to work will run from me, sometimes even making me completely freeze up and be unable to do anything at all. lately, that's been happening a lot more often, I feel I'm burning out, and sometimes it's a whole week or more where I feel I can't do anything.
I realize I'm very, very lucky I'm even able to work from home, but it's still very difficult and I'm to a point where I feel I have to talk to HR about autism in hopes they can help me and be understanding somehow. I 100% feel I need mental health leave, but without a dx or a therapist yet, that might be a bit difficult.
it just dawned on me that maybe there are accomodations I could request that would help me have an easier time, hopefully, but I've no idea what they'd be as I'm new to this. Since I have to talk to them between today and tomorrow, does anyone know what could possibly be hindering me that I can just talk about / ask for accomodations for?
On a different end as well, what could I do at home to help me out with work? My environment is already pretty quiet, I have something perfect to stim with, and I can always do it from bed where it's nice and warm and cozy, but I genuinely don't know if I'm missing something on that front too.
Thank you 💕
