So after having abandoned art for a while, I decided to buy a little ilford sprite 35 ii camera to get back into my original love, photography. I'm not good at speaking and expressing my feeling verbally so I figured this would be a good way to maybe capture my world and express myself.
Each photo is accompanied by a little caption underneath. These are originally thought up/ written in Spanish so I hope the English translations are good enough.
1: Far from the city you can hear how trees speak to each other through the mycelium. You can smell life and rot at the same time. I close my eyes and imagine the moment I become moss. I fully trust the mycelium won't lie to me.
2: The wisdom of other animals doesn't let them act in opposition to it's desires. They don't come close when they want distance, and they don't seek distance when they want company. Maybe my problem is I am too much animal. Maybe that's why the devil is a beast, too.
3: An excess of life and a body barely able to contain it: the seams of this sack of skin and viscera are always about to burst. Billions of years ago a star died and lent me a soul (carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, phosphorous) and when I look at the sky I feel the universe asking me to pay an ancestral debt.
4: At night I dream I fly over terrors and fantastical dangers. I wake up and I find myself with an aberration of nature: a dove without wings that doesn't fly, that doesn't sing, but screams.
5: When I was a teenager I fought with my father about the right to mediocrity. I desired a mediocre life and look at me now. ¿What kind of person dreams that way?
