Going on Public Transportation

I’m scared to go on my towns public transportation. I’ve never done it. I don’t know what to do. I hate using public transportation bc it’s a germ 🦠pit. Not saying I’m germophobic but maybe I am. What if people talk to me? I don’t want to have a conversation with a stranger. People like to call me horrible things… what if they do that? I need some advice bc I told my husband I would try it out bc we have to fix our vehicles.
