Sensory Friendly Gym Experiences?

Post Body

I asked the owner of my gym if they would consider doing something different this year for autism awareness month - it took every bit of courage I had to do it but I did lol I asked if we could possibly focus on adult autistic women (as it is an all women’s gym) and that the gym has helped me learn to manage my sensory needs as an autistic woman. I quickly gave her some information about misdiagnosis and how women have a tendency to present differently. She was very excited about it and asked if I wanted to be a part of it. Proceeds will go to AWN.

I know I have a few sensory things I’ve mentioned to her but I don’t speak for everyone. What would a sensory friendly workout look like for you? What kind of accommodations could a gym make to make you more comfortable there? Thanks for any kind of input!
