I know I'm risking playing into some harmful tropes here, but for my part, I really feel like a child a lot of the time. People talk about an "inner child", but if anything, I feel like I have an "inner adult". Adult life entails a lot of responsibilities and I don't feel ready for any of them. I like childish things. I like cartoons, I like drawing, I like dolls and I never sleep without a plushie. I don't care for the privileges of adulthood, I never wanted to do any of the things I was forbidden from as a child anyway. I really often feel like a 6 year old tossed into adulthood and it's going about as well as you'd think.
