Is it okay to bring a heeler into a home with an Australian Shepherd?

We have a 7 month old Australian Shepherd. We recently wanted him to have someone to play with while we're at work so we got a 7 week old red heeler. We are a bit worried about them both being herding dogs and both trying to be dominant. Does anyone know if this will cause them to fight or have issues? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with these dogs sharing homes?
