Sorry for the double post, pic in post below or recently. My girl is about 4.5 years old and has had a limp that has gotten steadily worse. I thought she originally had an ACL tear, but it turns out she has a luxating patella, which is also causing arthritis in her knee. According to our vet, this also requires a surgical fix and if not done quickly, it could also cause her ACL to deterioriate, which would require an additional surgery. If during the patella surgery, the ACL is damaged in anyway, they do have to fix it right then as well. Looking for insight on what that cost was like for anyone (I don't have pricing yet), what recovery time was like... I'm in a second story apartment and I cannot carry this girl up and down stairs 5 times per day, unfortunately (nor would she everrrr allow me to do so). Any info is helpful! She's been on a course of Rimadyl for about 10 days, but truthfully I'm not seeing too much of a difference, other than she gets up and down a little easier from laying. She is still "skip-hopping" on that leg all the time until her patella moves back into place.
