Gippsland-based Senator and Attorney-General model-putrid is deeply concerned by recent revelations that former deputy Prime Minister 12MaxWild threatened the New Zealand Government to veto the CANZIRES deal and place tariffs on New Zealand goods, without any prior consultation with either Cabinet, the Prime Minister, or Minister of Foreign Affairs. While these were not actions the former deputy Prime Minister had any authority to take, these are still deeply concerning statements from a senior government minister, essentially amounting to diplomatic blackmail.

12MaxWild is entitled to not support the CANZIRES deal, and to push for a CANZUK deal instead. If he does not wish to support CANZIRES, that is his prerogative. But a CANZUK deal is politically impossible, given the refusal of the United Kingdom to take military cooperation off the table, a dealbreaker for our Canadian and New Zealander friends. To attempt to blackmail New Zealand into accepting a CANZUK deal that contains military cooperation with authority you do not possess is not only disturbing, but incredibly delusional.

12MaxWild's actions have shown that he can no longer be trusted in a senior position of leadership in this nation. While the CANZIRES deal negotiated by our Prime Minister was a sensible and brilliant act of diplomatic cooperation that would have opened this nation up to tremendous economic investment and progress, 12MaxWild's boorish attempts to push for CANZUK at the risk of destroying diplomatic ties with our closest ally without authorisation show that he is untrustworthy and not worthy of holding a position of power.

If the Commonwealth Party refuses to expel 12MaxWild or remove him from leadership, then it is clear that the coming election will serve as a test for all patriotic Australians.
