model-putrid, leader of the Shire of Rosedale Restoration Association, is highly distraught at today's blatantly incorrect and offensive legal decision from the High Court of Australia. The court's eight justices unanimously ruled against the case, in yet another loss for the Rosedale community.
In a statement that would be almost funny if its repercussions did not have grave impacts for Rosedale residents and Rosedale democracy, the High Court rested the crux of their case on a false claim that "no reasonable person from Rosedale, would take offence at such a wording" as was published in the Commonwealth Times. The High Court has effectively demeaned the many residents of Rosedale, including model-putrid, who did indeed take quite great offense to the Times' words.
The High Court also misleadingly claimed that the case from model-putrid centred around a claim that "Rosedale is an ethnic group", which demonstrates a shocking ignorance of the facts laid out in model-putrid's skillful legal argument.
model-putrid's case, which was fact-checked and examined by numerous legal scholars, relied on the claim on the basis of national origin, not ethnicity, and model-putrid continues to contend that, as said in her case, "the racist attacks published in the Commonwealth Times violate the Racial Discrimination Act 1975, as they were committed to offend, insult, and humiliate her in a public setting on the basis of her national origin."
Quotes attributable to model-putrid
"Today's ruling shows that racism is alive and well in Australia, as the High Court makes an incorrect and shoddy ruling that spits in the face of the Racial Discrimination Act."
"I will continue to keep fighting against the attacks I have faced because I fight for my community."
"I thank all of those who have supported me throughout this legal battle."
