As protests by former members of the Youth Advisory Group continue to gather steam, bombshell text messages obtained by Direct Action show that the Prime Minister is now begging the opposition to step in and help.
With the PM's response so far totally ineffectual -- limited to sending an army of fascist thugs to break up the protests -- she has now been forced to pray for absolution in the arms of the opposition.
The text messages show the Prime Minister, clearly out of control, begging former PM model-pierogi to "make a statement" pressuring the strikers to cancel their plans for port blockades.
Meanwhile, the PM has failed to mobilise even her own ministers, with thus far just one paltry statement by the Minister for Youth, and nothing from the rest of the frontbench.
By contrast, Australians for Democracy have actively engaged with the strikers. The party's leader, model-forza, has submitted a bill to parliament which would see the Youth Advisory Group given an unprecedented say in youth policy -- a reform that eclipses anything yet promised or actioned by the government.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister TheSensibleCentre has been a vocal supporter of the strikes, today confirming that she will participate in the blockade at the Port of Newcastle, and pledging to pay the legal fees of anyone arrested as part of the action.
This vibrant response has humiliated the government, who remain subdued in response. A source within the SDP, speaking on the condition of anonymity, revealed the state of worry within the party.
"This has totally fucked us. Our polling was already low, and now the best we can do is send the police against school kids? We look like the bloody Tatmadaw, not a social democratic government."
It remains to be seen how the protesters will react to this development, though it is expected that Youmaton turning to pierogi -- who has opposed calls for tuition-free university -- will further alienate her from the protest's leaders.
TheSensibleCentre offered her perspective.
"Just the other day, we had Youmaton talking about how previous governments had done nothing on youth policy, including the government led by model-pierogi, and now she's turning to him for help? Begging? It's humiliating. Here's a better idea: just talk to the protesters and meet their reasonable demands! That's how you can stop escalation."
