As Senator for New South Wales, it was a simple matter for TheSensibleCentre to receive invitation to speak at the ANU, where she delivered a speech entitled "Youth: The Future of Our Nation." The speech was televised and streamed across various social media platforms -- maximising youth engagement. Booyah.

"I wish to speak tonight directly to the youth of our nation. The same youth who have decided that enough is enough, who have decided that they will stand up to the Prime Minister. The same youth who have resigned from the Youth Advisory Group and plan to disrupt the President's Speech.

I understand your concerns, and I share them. Previous governments, led by me, have invested billions in the future of our Australian youth. It was, after all, the Greens and then Socialist governments that led the way in making Australia's transition to renewable energy, as part of our international obligation to tackle climate change. It was the government under me, after all, that made a huge investment into education in order to give you a better one -- only for that funding to be struck down by the High Court.

And now, that is gone. You've dealt with dysfunctional, conservative governments that have been too busy prosecuting a culture war to bother giving you the time of day. And now, finally you see a change in government, and it is a reckless SDP government that has absolutely no vision. You have a government now that intends to sell you down the river by sitting on their hands and making bizarre choices, like reintroducing the Coffins Bill.

Listen, I understand where this anger is coming from. And I would like to hear more from you. So, to those who have resigned from the Youth Advisory, I'd invite you all to my office. We'll reach out to you and set up a time, because I'd love to hear more about your concerns and figure out some policy that we can put on the docket -- force the SDP to the table and force them to make some serious change.

Secondly, I would encourage you not to listen to politicians like Jordology and Slow-Passenger. They are telling you to reconsider disrupting the President's Speech; I say you must stay the course. You must. You have a plan for an effective, bold protest -- one that will really make an impact. If you bow to these people, who are trying to steer you wrong, then your protest will simply be forgotten to time. You understand? So stay the course. Stick with the plan. Stay on target -- although that reference may be a bit old for some of you.

Regardless, I also wish to encourage you to expand the scope of your protest. Right now, the Chief Justice of the High Court is a man who decided to cut billions of dollars from your education, in a decision that many, many legal experts have described as the 'worst decision ever made.'

You should be out the front of the High Court, sitting in the lobby, doing whatever you can to make him resign. And I promise you, to show that I'm listening to your concerns, I will begin a pressure campaign in Parliament to kick this bastard out. Meet me halfway and get out the front of the High Court, and together, we will get you a court that will restore that funding.

Your future is the future for all of us. You want to build a better one. And all politicians in this country should work with you."
