Notice of Meta Election

• Formal notification date: Monday 26 April 2021
• Election date: Saturday 1 May 2021
• Election close date: Monday 3 May 2021

All times on each date 10 PM AEST. If the election is posted late, then the close of the election will be pushed back accordingly. Results will be posted ASAP after the close of polling.

Per the Meta Constitution, the list of voters is available here. Eligible voters are those that registered 14 days prior to the announcement of the election, per s 4(2)(b) of the Meta Constitution i.e. 12 April 2021.

Details of Meta Election

• Constitutional amendment to require the full admin team to approve of decanonization
• Constitutional amendment to increase membership length to 6 months and mandate increased notification

There is a petition to amend section 2(4) of the Meta Constitution.

A person’s membership can last for up to a six-month period, which expires half yearly.

and to insert after subsection 5 the following

The Moderation Team must notify members at the start of the renewal month, and then with 14 days, and again with 7 days to go before the period for renewal closes.

Additionally, there is a petition to insert after subsection 5 of section 30 the following

(6) The Head Moderator may, by a Meta Rule not subject to the notice requirement of section 6 but subject to a vote of all officeholders, decanonise or clarify whether something from within AustraliaSim is a part of the AustraliaSim canon.
