As Minister for Indigenous Affairs, I'm interested in founding a commission as per the AustraliaSim Parliamentary Consultative Body Act 2017. However, as there is no precedence (as far as I am aware) for such a body, I'm not sure how the body would best work.
I believe that the business of the commission should take place on Reddit, rather than discord. However, am unsure as to what subreddit would be appropriate for such a body.
In my opinion, either a new subreddit dedicated solely to AusSim commissions/committees, or a new subreddit for each individual committee/commission would be best.
I am concerned that it would be too difficult for a single subreddit to cater all consultative bodies, as business would get lost and it would be too difficult to distinguish between the business of each body once more are created in the future.
For this reason I believe that a new dedicated subreddit for each consultative body would work best, especially considering that as per the Act a commission is a permanent body. I have also taken inspiration from r/AusSimConvention, which was created into the Constitutional Convention held earlier in the year. I believe that in this instance, having a dedicated sub for a particular convention was quite successful.
Thus I have created r/AusSimIACommission for the proposed Commission into Indigenous Affairs. I would be happy to to include u/RunasSudo as a moderator.
Ultimately I'd like to hear everyone's opinions on the matter. I think this is an important issue which should be resolved sooner rather than later as (hopefully) more consultative bodies are created in the future.
Cheers,
