/u/silicon_based_life metaphorically staggers into Darwin
Post Body

/u/silicon_based_life drives into Darwin after extensive road travel through Queensland and Northern Territory in his hybrid car. He goes to a CA event prepared for him in the town centre.

"Thank you everyone for being here! I am pleased to be selected as the Centre Alliance candidate for Lingiari, and I know that I will represent this constituency well and with a breadth of local knowledge. Today I want to go through some more policies that the Centre Alliance is carrying into the next election. Aside from increasing funding to the regions using the strong economy the centre coalition has built up these past few terms, we would also increase funding for renewables so that eventually the existing coal power plants can be replaced by renewable energy in a just transition. We would also seek to give the indigenous nations of Australia constitutional recognition, so that their important position as the first peoples of this great land can be properly recognised. These, amongst many other policies and the economic pragmatism you have already seen many times for the centre coalition, are what you stand to gain for voting for Centre Alliance."

An onlooker calls out from the crowd.

Onlooker: "Hey silicon! Hot news at the moment, what do you make of the controversy Liesel has attracted following her defense of CA abstaining on the Trans Day of Remembrance motion?"

silicon: "I've always been very clear on my stance on the topic. I believe all of my colleagues have the right to their own opinion, especially on social issues like this one, and I will fight to allow them to keep that freedom. I have also made it very clear that if I had been given the chance to participate in that vote, I would've given it my hearty approval. I hope to get the chance to work with Liesel in Parliament to pass legislation to bring real change in the lives of trans people, as she has signaled her intention to do."
