How does purchasing a shipping label printer “reduce costs” when shipping fees are the exact same?

Post Body

Hey guys, beginner shipper here so apologises in advance, my knowledge about this topic is limited. I’ve recently sold a few things on eBay and prior to this, I’ve read that purchasing a label printer to print shipping labels reduce the costs time spent waiting in line to get your label printed at AusPost.

My first shipping label was printed for free (first time eBay shipper discount), my second one turned out to be $10.60 (the standard price).

So I don’t quite understand how I’m saving on costs when I’m down $100 for the label printer. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated as I’m obviously having trouble understanding this topic haha… cheers guys
