I’ve received three quotes for water softeners for my house in north Austin. They have all been in the realm of 8k after everything is all said and done. I’m not looking for anything absurdly fancy, I just want to prevent all of my new appliances from breaking in a couple of years and ideally I’d like less water spots on all of my fixtures. Anyone have any companies that are more reasonable they’d recommend?
It all comes down to if you have the plumbing set up for it already. If you do, the biggest cost will be the softener. If not, then it really depends on what all they have to do to get the plumbing right.
3 quotes though coming in around the same cost does seem to me to be then that's it's about right for the job at hand.
