Well, we have rain chances the rest of the week and that may be it for the rainy season. It doesn’t look like it will be enough to fill lake Travis at all.
All the models indicate that a strong high pressure ridge is about to build into Texas. This will begin in earnest next week.
Expect this currently humid cloudy rainy weather to be replaced with hot and humid albeit sunny conditions. There is a lot of ground moisture so the humidity feels like could be quite hot.
The temps will slowly climb into the mid 90’s in round one. Then there will be a break but the ridge will then get stronger and some models are indicating 100 degrees by the 15th.
A lot of the power plants are currently in maintenance mode since people haven’t had to use a lot of AC recently and many will still be in maintenance mode so I expect conservation announcements if we get close to the century mark.
