Like many, I have struggled recently with finances. Given that I was a pretty nerdy kid, I've been selling my retro video game collection kind of piece by piece, trying to make various Sophie's choices given how my finances are doing any particular week.
Even though I know half price is notorious for offering very low rates for items, I thought they can't low ball me on this one.
I have a near mint complete in box copy of Zelda Ocarina of Time-The Collector's Edition. I got it for Christmas and kept the box because I kept the boxes of all of my Nintendo 64 games even though they were made of that fragile paper.
So, according to pricerating.com that edition is worth 268 I think. I expected half price to offer 80. I also included a couple of DVDs and a couple of recent books just to make the offer higher if I could. They took about 30 mins until they called me back-26 dollars. I started laughing. I said, for all of it? The manager looked at me and then at the computer and she said yeah, we have been looking at eBay to see what it sold for, presumably Zelda, but I was too stunned to ask further. With a smile I said thank you for your time, gathered my items, and left.
