Doing some research on buying a first bike for when I go for my licence next year.

Post Body

Hey everyone, as the title says I plan to go for my bike licence within the next year in Victoria so doing some research about costs and stuff. I've searched through posts on here about people asking for advice on getting their licence and their first bikes etc. which have been helpful, it seems a naked bike is the way to go since someone said they are initially a little cheaper and if you drop it hold up a little better.

Just looking for some recommendations for a decent first bike and gear for when I get the licence. I'll be doing normal highway riding to work and back (it's about half an hr each way), I have no experience with motorbikes, except for an ATV course for work which I crashed and got bad concussion from haha. I am about 6ft and 100-110kg as well.

I have found some bikes that I like the look of and seem ok from my very limited knowledge, but any other recommendations would be great. Suzuki - SV650L, Honda - CB650R, Kawasaki - Z500SE, Yamaha - MT-07LA

Also any positives for actually have a motorbike licence/riding one to help convince my wife, her brother has had a lot of accidents on his bike....but her brother is an idiot so there's that.

Thanks for your help.
