Does anyone oil their AD's hair?

I have a 7 month old Aussiedoole, and his fur seems very dry, and his skin is itchy. Are there any oils to add to their fur to help this or am I barking up the wrong tree? I don't really have any reason to suspect this is a thing, but I was curious if it would be an option. I know if my hair is really dry adding a small amount of coconut oil or something similar can help. Maybe it's absurd though ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
