Hi all. I’ll be arriving in Melbourne in a couple of months on a WHV from the UK.

I’m looking at trying to get a standard 9-5 job as I’d like to work for at least 9 months in one place before maybe travelling next year.

The feedback I’m getting from recruiters is that it’s better to be in the country before applying for jobs. Ideally I’d like to have a job lined up before I arrive, has anyone got any advice on any recruiters that specialise in employing people on a WHV?

I currently work in IT and I’ve been seeing a lot of ads for short term contract roles on a day rate, which I would also be happy with, but I’m not sure how this works in terms of setting up as a contractor in Oz.
