Hey everyone,
I've recently noticed a rather perplexing trend that seems to have swept across the country almost overnight: the sudden scarcity of true 'talcum powder'. It appears that our once-beloved talc has been stealthily replaced with corn starch-based products on shelves everywhere. Is it just me, or has anyone else been caught off guard by this switch?
For those of us who've relied on talcum powder for its superior moisture-absorbing properties, this change is nothing short of a disaster. Corn starch, while a decent alternative for some applications, simply doesn't measure up when it comes to absorption. It tends to absorb into the skin rather than sitting on the surface, which means it's far less effective at keeping areas like the groin dry. Moreover, it doesn't absorb nearly as much moisture, and to add insult to injury, it creates an environment that's practically a paradise for bacteria and other unwelcome guests.
I can't be the only one missing the dry, comfortable feeling that talc used to provide. The question is, what are we supposed to do now? Has anyone found a suitable replacement that doesn't involve turning our nether regions into a microbiological experiment gone wrong? Are there any talc holdouts or secret stashes out there? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and solutions.
I highly recommend Silky Underwear dusting powder by Lush. It uses kaolin clay and cornstarch. Smells delightful and also contains cocoa butter which keeps everything nice and smooth.
