During the campaign, polling will be released through the press.
Campaigning will take place on /r/AusSimCampaigning.
Note on modifiers: Debates, press, etc will only count towards the result of this election if they are made before the start of the campaign. Subsequent posts will not be counted, and will only be included in the next national polls.
Endorsements are for parties to encourage voters to vote for a candidate in a seat they aren’t running in. Endorsements must be posted in a single post containing all endorsements, labelled "[Party/Org Name] Endorsements". Endorsements will not count towards any post limits.
Note: Parties and independent candidates running must provide a how to vote cards on r/AusSimCampaigning before the end of campaigning. It will be much appreciated if each party produces one text version of all HTV cards labeled "[Party/Org Name] HTV Cards". This is to make the EC's job easier in calculating the results. Failure to follow this stipulation could result in preferences being directed in a manner deemed appropriate in the electoral calculator.
There are five different types of posts:
- Electorate posts which are used to campaign in a single electorate.
- National posts which are used to campaign nationally, this will provide a small boost to your vote in every electorate.
- Manifesto posts which will be used by parties to release their manifestos.
- Endorsement posts which are used by parties to endorse a candidate from outside of their party in an electorate.
- How to vote card posts which are used by candidates to share their how to vote cards.
Each of these post types will have their own flair. The campaigning subreddit has been set up to automatically flair posts. All posts must have a correctly formatted title to make it easier for readers and for automatic flairs:
[Nicholls - 13th - Post 1] AMN advocates for Milduran independence
[National - 16th - Post 5] Griffo releases Tax Cuts 2
[HTV] How to vote for the Mod Abuse Alliance
[Manifesto] The Mod Alliance Manifesto is stapled to every house in the country!!!
If you do not put the electorate in the title, it will be assumed to be a national post regardless of whether it is or not.
Each electorate or national post is required to be labelled with the date and post number as shown above.
Candidates will have four (4) posts throughout the campaign, which may be used for a particular electorate or nationwide. Spreading these posts out throughout the campaign will be more effective. Parties will also have two (2) additional posts for a leader or a designated party member, which may be used for a particular electorate or nationwide. Endorsements, how to vote cards, and manifesto posts will not count towards post limits.
Important information: Party leaders must submit their endorsed candidate in the form attached. Independent candidates can also use this form. Failure to fill out this form in a correct manner before Monday 12 July 12noon AEST will result in a party or candidate being disqualified from contesting the upcoming federal election.
Whilst many states and territories have eased most of their restrictions, all candidates must follow the COVID rules when campaigning, as per the situation in real life. For example, social distancing, check-in systems, capped numbers, etc. An exception is made for quarantine - there is no quarantine requirement when travelling within your electorate, or between electorates. Failure to follow these rules will reduce the effectiveness of your campaigning.
