Hey Melbourne!
Sadly it’s my final campaign today! Can I just say what an exciting few days it’s been travelling around, meeting you all and getting to speak with you? We have an amazing community here in Melbourne and it’s something we should be incredibly proud of - I know I am and I hope this is something many of you share with me.
For my final speech I thought I’d touch on why the Liberals would be the right choice for government. We’re a party which is fiercely proud of Australia and everything it has to offer. You know that a Liberal government will put Australia and her people first. We are also an honest and open party, what you see is what you get. There is no hidden agenda, no ulterior motives, we just want to get on with the job at hand and deliver for the people of Australia. We stick to how Parliament works and abide by it - it’s important we show the respect and admiration our seat of democracy deserves.
The current government isn’t like this. They abandoned Australia and her coal mining industry after the breakdown of one of the coal power plants. They failed to deliver on their key promises including the most important of all - the budget! In some ways it’s good that they failed to deliver a budget because their fiscal management would have sure been the worst in living memory.
With the Liberals you get a government fighting to keep Australian land Australian through the opposition to the Port of Darwin sale. You get a government fighting to help small businesses through tax cuts and the slashing of bureaucratic red tape. You get a government which protects an individual's rights whether that’s in regards to their private property or a farmer's water rights.
It’s clear what we stand for and who we are. All you need to do now is get out and vote. And vote for the right candidate. Choose Chi, Choose liberal. Thankyou.
