imnofox spoke to The Project about his opponent's call to bulldoze Uluru
Waleed: "We're joined by imnofox, Greens candidate for Lingiari, to discuss the campaign. How's it going, imno?"
imno: "Well, I just got back from a hard day of campaigning, only to see my opponent promising to bulldoze Uluru, one of most amazing natural wonders in Lingiari. That honestly shocked me, I knew the LRP were a bit fringe, but this is a radical and destructive policy promise."
Carrie: "But it was to build a windfarm!"
imno: "Honestly now, there's quite a lot of room for windfarms. We don't need to bulldoze wonders like Uluru, sacred to the Pitjantjatjara Anangu people, to build windfarms. The Greens are committed to building more windfarms, but we won't sacrifice our ecological and cultural wonders to do so."
Peter: "Do you think this is a serious proposal from the Liberty Reform Party?"
imno: "They purport to be running a serious campaign, and I'll take their word for it Peter. That means that this is a serious proposal from a joke of a party. 21 species of native mammals currently live near Uluru, it's a major Australian icon. Uluru needs more protection, it certainly doesn't need to be bulldozed."
Waleed: "What does this mean for the race?"
imno: "Look, we're running a serious campaign for Lingiari, based on green values, focussing on the environment and social justice. The choice is pretty clear, both for voters and parties looking to make endorsements. Any party who endorses the LRP in this race is endorsing the destruction of our beautiful natural wonders. That's pretty plain and simple. The LRP are doing their best to make the choice clear as day for Lingiari voters."
Peter: "Thanks for chatting with us, imno. Have a good night!"
imno: "Thank you!"
imno left the studio and cycled to his eco caravan for the night
