The following is the transcript of a speech delivered by Socialist Party leader Model-Trask before a large (10 million strong) crowd in Gold Coast:

It is time for a change, Moncrieff. And it's time for a change for Australia. It's just come out last night that the LNP Government is a lame duck. Almost the entire Senate has publicly vowed, for all to see, that any government legislation will die on the Senate floor.

With that, they've lost the ability to legislate. And it means they've lost the ability to PROMISE. Any words you hear from the Liberal or ANCAAP Candidates, you'll have to ask yourself if they can actually back up those words.

And I know too, that I can't promise the passage of any legislation. If you elect HorrorHQ, yes, we can't guarantee that she will be able to guarantee the passage of big spending bills or anything else. But what we can guarantee is that we will, as a party, use our years of negotiating experience to negotiate the immediate end to the Griffonomics Government.

This is a government that got too big for its britches. It was elected on the back of voters that wanted to see the CPA government gone -- because they did nothing -- but did not consent to a rabid, right-wing agenda. However, that is exactly what the cabinet has set out to do. They are working hard to ensure that Australia falls victim to the most right-wing program of reform we have seen in the history of western nations.

As the Socialist Party, we will work to continue to act as a bulwark that blocks this agenda. We will preserve the gains of previous, Socialist Governments: achievements like high wages, world leading climate legislation, and an independent foreign policy. These gains have allowed Australia to enjoy the highest standard of living of any country IN THE WORLD. But it comes at the cost of capitalist fat cats and the Wall Street firms -- as you'd see depicted in that classic film, The Big Short.

If you elect HorrorHQ, she will work to continue to preserve this. To prevent the regression that the LNP are so desperate to cause. If you elect the LNP's candidate and allow Griffo's government to continue, we will be stuck with the most regressive, hard-right government ever seen. It is a government that will mean lower wages, longer hours, and continued pain for countless Australians. It will mean serious attacks on some of our most marginalised communities, who deserve our love and respect.

The Socialist Party is the shield. It is the bulwark. It is a political party that has accomplished such a massive program of reform, that our primary purpose is now to preserve that. The government will attack your wages, but the Socialist Party will protect them!
