Att honest plumbers - is this guy double dipping
Post Body

Hey Plumbers

Need some genuine feedback on a stitch up

Had an emergency call out last night for a burst water pipe at my mums house

Was after hours (5pm) - fair enough, but just got the invoice from the plumber who has charged $280 for the call out free and first hour included, then $175 per hour for 2 hours labor plus $450 for the leak detection

However - didnā€™t fix the leak, found the leak almost immediately that it was in the shower behind concrete, turned water of at mains and advised heā€™d need to come back

All up, over $1k to find the leak was in the shower and turn off mains.

My mate said perhaps the labor is a bit inflated, but itā€™s double dipping with the ā€œleak detectionā€ at $450

Any genuine thoughts from some plumbers in here

Melbourne area

Cheers
