Since my ask for help gained a lot of discussion, here is the result.

Firstly, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the kind helpful comments.
I cleaned the deck with napisan and then let it dry overnight and got stuck into it with 1 coat of decking oil and here’s the result.
Absolutely needed another clean before oiling as you can still see dirty spots. But with bad weather on the way and being on a massive time crunch, this will do! Pretty happy with the result for about 6 hours work all up.
