So I've run into this problem(old house and things surprise you). I've put in two headers where the blue lines are for support, am I now able to safely remove the section of truss/bearer. Ceiling void is only about 200mm. Or do I have to patch and move the fire place? Thanks for any help!!

Hard to tell what’s going on from the photo, although it looks like you’ve already cut the ceiling joist? In the centre of the hole Then have the rafter running above? Wouldn’t be ideal but you could potentially install battens that are attached to the rafters on either side and pick up that rafter. That would do the job and allow you to cut that rafter out of the way. If you did, just try avoid standing directly on that rafter when you’re on the roof, just in case

I’d also remove he roof sheet above and do the same for the ceiling joist

There’s definitely no truss in the photo
