Anyone feeling like neighbours aren't looking out for one another anymore?
Post Body

Is anyone feeling like neighbours aren't looking out for one another anymore?

Be it anything like not telling others about garage doors left open in the night, nearby break-in attempts, hazard lights being left on or car doors open in the driveway into the night.

When I came home late one night last week I knocked on a neighbour's door a few doors down when I saw his garage door was open. 11pm. He was completely surprised that I knocked on his door to let him know (and shut it straight away). [There were lights on at the back of his house]

A few months ago I saw a neighbour had left their hazard lights on their car in the driveway and this was how it was at 8pm at night. No one let them know but me four doors down and across the road. They seemed surprised as well.

Isn't this the norm?

Because it's Reddit, I know there will be people who'll say "they are not explicitly obligated to tell you anything" which I'm very much aware of.

The funny thing is, it costs nothing to look out for others.

Do you feel neighbours are becoming more insular and not looking out for others like they did 10 or 20 years ago?
