I'm just curious to hear from others - as we strive to live in an equitable society.
I live in the southeast of Melbourne, and my rates on my PPOR for the upcoming year are $9,500.
I also own another property, which is in the same exact council, with a different block and house value of course - but only about 8kms away - where they are $1700.
Of course, there is different value in the houses - but in all fairness, the services i receive from the council are exactly the same.
Jokes aside- how is it justified to charge one group of residents 458% more than another for their rates?
