Warning long!! My parents currently own an investment property which they’ve just started renting out after a year (prev tenants of ten years had left the house with full of rubbish and damage which required alot of renovation). I guess you could say after that experience my parents have been really careful. The property has a gazebo in the backyard and is clearly seen in the properties photos when it was up on the website and the tenants have inspected the property a few weeks ago before moving in two days ago. They advised they would like the gazebo removed (we are unsure of the reason at this stage) and have asked to remove some other things from the backyard like a bbq machine and a few tiles that were missed. My parents are happy to remove everything except the gazebo as it’s fixed and they have spent a lot of money trying to fix up the house. I guess my question is how valid is this stance? Is it ok for my parents to reject the request for the removal of the gazebo as it was there during the inspection and everything was agreed upon prior to moving in or is this considered unreasonable?
