After some advice about work contract
Post Body

So

Up until March this year I was working for a community services organisation for 5 years. 4 and 1/2 of them were weekend work at a crisis accommodation centre.

I was recently in touch with a staff member who still works for this organisation and she mentioned to me she had been in touch with the union in regards to a section of the contract that she is (and I was) on. It states that staff must be paid penalty rates when on annual leave if they work weekends/are missing out on those weekends. Basic translation anyway.

This staff member later contacted me and said they had won a challenge and were now being backpaid for the last 7 years.

I'm wondering if i'm entitled to this and how I should go about contacting the organisation to discuss the situation.

Regards
