From my knowledge, my understanding of Australian self defence law is all about āreasonable and proportional forceā which to me means itās greatly up to interpretation in court for example. More specifically though, what happens if someone is breaking into your house with a machete in hand, and you hit their head with a baseball bat causing death. They didnāt see you, yet to verbally threaten you, but why do I feel that youād still be liable in this situation. Hypothetical of course hahaha but still. Curious of opinions / does it different greatly state to state?
