Are Police in QLD, allowed to hold you for 9 hours in a watch house overnight, with nothing but a toilet, deny you contact with a relative or legal advice even when asking, charge and release you on bail without questioning, actively withhold information from family who are calling the police station about your whereabouts and condition, when the offender is charged with wilful damage (indictable offence), and is intoxicated? (Asking for a friend). I know the police have safeguards in place such as “reasonable assumption or judgement of the officer” but a couple things point to this whole process not being in alliance with the standard procedures.
