So first off, Manning Valley area of NSW.
There's been a car parked on the side of the road/nature strip/ train tracks for about 6 months, 4 minutes drive from me. My mechanic uses this spot as a parking lot for the cars/jobs that he's already completed and are just awaiting pickup for.
I was curious as to why this one had been there for x amount of time so I asked him and it's not related to his work, he's asked everybody in the street if they knew whose it was but they all assumed it was his. There has been multiple offers to purchase it off him as he is the only person that uses that area, so much so that he's had to hook it up and drag it further away. He's had one other interaction like this, where somebody parked their vehicle there as a storage area and then went to jail for a number of months.
My question is, what can hypothetically be done about it? I've heard dodgy people talk about attempts to repossess "abandoned" vehicles before but I assume that's all bullshit.
