I was asked to leave a club last week, though not given a reason. Still haven’t been.
Bouncers let me half finish my drink at the door. While talking to them about what was going on, I was then grabbed from behind around the throat and dragged to the floor, and out the door.
I immediately called the police, who showed up and chatted with myself, and then staff, but wouldn’t take a statement due to me having had a drink.
I’ve followed up a few days later; however and received this response:
“An investigation has been completed including review of CCTV and speaking to management of the venue and the matter won't be progressing further.
I understand you were distressed at the time and I'm more than happy to request an internal referral for support and you will be contacted within 48 hours.”
My windpipe was squashed. It’s still in pain. I haven’t been able to talk properly all week (which really isn’t helpful in a customer facing job).
I don’t deal with the cops in general; Is this them just saying nothing is happening, even though that’s definitely assault?
Advice would be appreciated. I don’t feel this can just be swept under the rug like this.
