I live in a small town in the South West of WA. I purchased 6 x preserving jars online from a shop in Sydney. The company I purchased off uses their preferred Courier which we’ll call X.
At the time of purchase, the items were in stock and I paid whatever the price of the goods were plus postage. Close to 6 weeks went by and no goods had arrived so I sent an email asking where my goods were. They replied fairly quickly telling me the goods had arrived and were ready to be picked up…..at a depot 3hrs return drive away! The courier’s said they don’t deliver to my address! I immediately contacted the seller again and told them I had paid postage to my address and not a 3hr return drive away.
Well, another week went past and still, my items haven’t arrived so I contacted the seller again who in turn contacted their carrier who said the items had been delivered to our local Depot and to check there. I live in a very small country town and everyone knows each other. I know the proprietors of the local depot very well…….anyway, I checked with them again and surprise surprise, no goods addressed to me. The carrier had also said to the seller that they had called the local depot who had confirmed that my package had arrived. This wasn’t the case. The last time my package was scanned, was about three weeks ago in their depot which is a three hour return drive.
I know this probably sounds a bit petty to some but I’m a 75 yo pensioner who saved up for this purchase as I wanted to preserve excess verges I have grown and can’t afford to buy anymore more.
From where I sit and after chatting with our local mechanic/Toll Depot/tyre shop owners I have come to the conclusion that the Courier company in question is lying. What can I do? Who could I go to for help? Would consumer affairs help?
I’m sorry it’s a bit petty and my message is a bit long winded but it’s upset me a bit not to mention how frustrating it is
