I'll be happy if someone can guide me on this matter. I'm an international student working in hospitality as a casual worker. I'm a hard worker, don't slack off, deliver excellent work and receive positive feedback from customers.
Recently my manager mentioned cost-cutting and I've noticed changes in my shift hours with a decrease in the total hours, sometimes by 10, 20 or even 40 minutes. We use an app so I can track my shift hours and approvals.
I want to know if the manager can do this, if it's legal and what I should do to stop it because I don't think it's fair. I've talked to the company's HR, but the issue persists.
