Hi all, been working 2 full-time roles which has been challenging but needed to cope with cost of living pressures.. Job A is in NSW and Job B is in VIC.
Recently Job B found out and has stood me down, in the contract it doesn't state any start / finsih times, just that the job needs to be done. it just simply states the following
Doesn't state hours in a day that need to be worked in the contract, just states
Hours
' we expect you to work the hours necessary to complete your role successfully and meet our expectations. Companies name hours if employment may vary and your flexibility is a requirement of the job. Company's name may vary your days (including work on weekends) starting/finishing times from time to time and you may be required to work reasonable additional hours, your remuneration package is set at a level appropriate to compensate you got any additional hours you work'
I have been working the necessary hours required and not once in my time has my lack of work come into question. I have never had a meeting with anyone about performance issues or attendance.
It also states that I need to disclose any other employment that conflicts with the interests of the company. The companies are not in the same industry, not even remotely close.
I had passed my 6 month probation and have been meeting deadlines and targets that have been set, Again, not once have never been pulled aside to be spoken to about my performance or commitment.
Anyways, looks like I'm going to be terminated from Job B. They have stood me down and I am waiting for an outcome.
Just to clarify, I am not contesting the high probability of being terminated from that role.
just wanted to check, your thoughts always go to the most extreme outcomes..
It does state the following 'you will disclose to us if you currently or in the future undertake other employment in any capacity or engage in any other business which may be in conflict with the interests of 'business name'
No idea how really
sue for breach of contract? I don't know, the owner said it was like stealing! 😩
The employment contract says I can't take up another role if it's a conflict of interest.

Hi, thankyou. I think that's the angle they will be going for, the hours overlapping, although the employment contract doesn't stipulate the actual start / finish times which have always been included in other contracts I've signed.
So I just worked early hours, late nights and sometimes weekends to ensure I met deadlines and was hitting my targets, rarely missed a meeting.
