House deposit in limbo at the bank NSW Property

Post Body

Hi guys,

Our cooling off period ends at 5pm today.

I've sent the 10% deposit yesterday at 4:40pm. The bank said it normally takes a 24 hours to go through but it might take longer.

The real estate agents say that a screenshot of the pending transaction is not accepted and the money must be in their account (is this true or it depends on the contract?)

My main question is, what happens to the deposit if it arrives in the agent's trust after the cooling off period ends at 5pm?

Do they have to give back the deposit or do we lose it?

Thanks
